问：称念南无阿弥陀佛就表示我们已经回家了吗? 

常敏法师：称念南无阿弥陀佛的意思是：当我们念佛时，我们就已经得到阿弥陀佛的慈悲救度。不是我们要回家，而是我们已经回到阿弥陀佛的怀抱；南无阿弥陀佛无碍光明已经照耀在我们心中，南无阿弥陀佛光明名号已经建立在我们心中了。当我们称念南无阿弥陀佛时，佛就告诉我们，你已得救。我们念佛之时，就已经获得往生大利益，就已经在南无阿弥陀佛光明名号中了。“光明遍照十方世界，念佛众生摄取不舍。”这句经文就是这个意思。 南无阿弥陀佛!

 

〖英语版〗Question: Does intoning "Namo Amitabha" mean we have already returned home?

 

Master Chang Min: Chanting "Namo Amitabha" means that when we recite the Buddha's name, we have already received Amitabha Buddha's compassionate salvation. It's not that we are returning home, but rather we were taken into the bosom of the Buddha; Amitabha Buddha's unobstructed light has illuminated our hearts, and Amitabha Buddha's sacred name has been established in our hearts. When we recite "Namo Amitabha," the Buddha tells us that you have been saved. When we recite "Namo Amitabha," we have already attained the great benefits of rebirth in the Pure Land and are already within the glorious name of Namo Amitabha Buddha. The sutra passage “Amitabha Buddha’s light illuminates the worlds of the ten directions, embracing and not forsaking those who recites his name” conveys this exact meaning.
